How the drafting works

We write every page, put the whole site together on a private staging address, and send you the link. You read it the way a customer would, tell us what is wrong, and we change it. That goes back and forth until you are happy, and then it goes live on your domain. The only things we cannot invent are your facts: hours, the phone number, the address, prices where you publish them, credentials and licence numbers.

Website projects slip for one reason: content. Logo artwork, the facts only you hold, and photos are what we need from you. Phone photos are fine and more is better than fewer. Photos improve the site; they do not hold up the launch.

What is in the price

A site is quoted from a brief as one fixed price for the agreed scope, with no stages to buy and nothing held back. The page count, the features and whether it is a brochure site, a booking site or a store decide the figure. Privacy, terms, a form thank-you page and a proper 404 come on top and are not counted. If a page is worth adding while we are writing, it goes in. Small changes as we go are part of the job. A substantial change to what was agreed, a client portal, an online store, a second design direction after one is signed off, is quoted in writing before any work begins.

Fifty percent to commence, which books your place in the schedule, and fifty percent on launch. Domain renewal is the one third-party cost, twenty to sixty dollars a year, paid by you to the registrar and kept in your name.

The care plan

From launch, hosting and SSL, updates applied, backups verified, uptime and forms monitored, security patched, small changes and wording tweaks done for you, and someone to ring when something is not right. A flat annual fee that does not move with your traffic or how often you ask. It is not optional: a site that collects enquiries is not a thing to leave unattended, and if a form quietly stops emailing you on a Friday afternoon you will not find out from the website.

Timeline

Design concept and approval, three to five days. Copywriting and build, one and a half to two weeks. Your draft review, three to five days. Final checks, redirects, email checks, domain cutover and launch, two to three days. About three weeks from the deposit. What actually sets the launch date is how fast the marked-up draft comes back.

Questions we get asked

Do I have to write anything?

No. We write every page from your facts and put it on a private staging address for you to mark up.

Do I need a new domain?

Usually not. Keep the one that runs your email. We copy the mail records before anything is touched and make the change outside business hours with test emails in and out.

What happens to my old page addresses?

Every one is redirected to its replacement, so nothing that ranks or is printed on a card dies at cutover.

Who owns the domain and the accounts?

You do, on your own billing. We take nothing from third-party costs.

Can I cancel my Wix or Localsearch plan?

After launch, yes, after checking the notice period and whether the provider owns the site. It is your decision and we would not do it before the new site is live.

Ask about websites

Tell us what you sell and where. We come back in business hours with a straight answer, and if this is the wrong service for what you are after we say which one is.
